fun quote . . . where did you read this?

I'd love to here your thoughts on it. How are you looking to lead through people?

Thanks for stirring the pot at Liquid!

If you go out and buy new things to replace all of your plastic things you've accomplished your one goal in that you are no longer using plastic. However, if you then throw the plastic things away before the end of their useful life (i.e. cutting boards) aren't you then worsening part of the problem? I would think your goal would be better served to just not buy any new plastic things.

I appreciate the comment no matter what the length!

I agree with you, Rus. I just thought it was funny when my stylist said it. I suppose the background would help: I was wondering whether or not to get highlights and, if so, how much. That's when she told me I couldn't be too blonde. This coming from a woman who is a platinum blonde :)

I disagree with both. There is, I believe, a subculture of men out here who actually look for substance. Black eyebrows and roots with a blond head tell something to this subculture about the values of the beholder of said hair. Of course, blond hair catches the eye, but I think there is such a thing as too blonde. Same can be said about thin. Hugging bones doesn't feel very good. But hey, I'm out of the market, so what do I know?

Oh bother, I broke my rule that blog comments should never exceed the length of the blog entry. Sorry. :-)

This is good. It reminds me of what I read this week from John Piper in his book, "Don't Waste Your Life:"

"No one ever said they learned their deepest lessons of life, or had their sweetest encounters with God, on sunny days. People go deep with God when the drought comes. That is the way God designed it. Christ aims to be magnified in life most clearly by the way we experience him in our losses."

Hi Wendy,
I'll give my favorite Robert Frost poem, and if you see it again soon you'll definitely know God is somehow saying something that has to do with you and Robert Frost.

The Secret Sits
Robert Frost

We dance round in a ring and suppose,
But the Secret sits in the middle and knows.
